What are the aerobic exercises that your body needs?

This is a good question, but before providing an answer to this question, let us first find out what aerobic exercise itself means or refers to.
Therefore, what are aerobic exercises?

Now as you may or may not know aerobic exercises are physical exercises that are relatively low in intensity, which depend mainly on the aerobic
(meaning “with air”) energy-generating process of the body. With the word “aerobic” actually referring to the usage of oxygen in meeting the energy needs of the body in the course of
exercise through aerobic metabolism.

In addition, another feature of aerobic exercises besides low intensity is that they are carried out over a long period of time rather than within a short period of time or duration.

But, what are the aerobic exercises that are most commonly known and engaged in?

Well, examples of aeroobic activities are:

  • walking
  • jogging
  • biking
  • swimming
  • cross-country skiing, etc.

These examples of aerobic exercises with the exception of one or two examples in this list are required by the body on a regular basis to stay healthy and fit.

Okay even if you are not able to carry out many of the exercises stated in this list there is one that no one should run away from. It is simply walking! This one anyone can do. It is definitely an answer to the question: “what are the aerobic exercises needed by the body?” This is because it is something we do in one form or the other almost every day of our lives.

Of course the walking stated here is not about taking a few steps on the sidewalk, although this can be said to be a good beginning.

Now, what are the aerobic exercises’ benefits to the body?

To begin with aerobic exercises condition the heart as well as lungs by improving the oxygen made available to a person’s body. Plus, it makes the heart to make use of oxygen more adequately.  Other major aerobic exercise benefits include:

  • Rreduction of body fat (This is when combined with the right diet and strength training)
  • General strengthening of the body’s muscles
  • Improved resistance to tiredness (fatigue) among others.

Lastly, besides the health benefits of aerobic exercises, these exercises also have performance benefits.

Now the performance benefits are many and so just a few of them will be stated here.

These include:

  • Enhancing muscle recovery from high intensity exercises
  • Improved storage of fats as well as carbohydrates within the body’s muscles
  • Increasing the muscles’ ability to utilize fats in the course of exercising.
So, What are the Aerobic Exercises you body craves – I think you can answer that by saying, what ever you are able to do with at any level you can do it – do it!
